[LUG] Microsoft cockup!

Heard this from my local computer guy who has connections.

For about three days ms were helpfully enticing people to upgrade their 
Acrobat readers - but without mentioning the important fact that they had to 
uninstall the earlier version first. This caused disks to have to be 
reformatted, etc.. as there was no workround. Adobe were not at fault and 
accepted £500M for the problems it caused them. What compensation for the 
individuals and businesses affected? Bet someone in ms got the sack! Anyone 
else heard about this or has it been kept quiet?
