Re: [LUG] linux 8 startup scripts.

Hi,
I have created a startup script to start postgres automatically when my computer is rebooted, however I am unsure of where to place it / how to set it up. The script runs ok on a freebsd machine (I have placed it in /usr/local/etc/rc.d/ for this). I am not sure what the equivelant is on Redhat 8 though. I have tried putting it in /etc/rc.d and the subsequent directories. Do i have to alter /etc/inittab?
Thanks in advance
Robert Nowik

put it in /etc/init.d

make a symlink to it from /etc/rcX.d/SnnPostgres

where X = runlevel and nn = number (order to start the script..) See the other examples in the rcX.d and init.d directorys for more help..
