Re: [LUG] What's your distro?

this ought to be fun :)

Ok, Just "upgraded" my main home machine from SuSE 8.0 to Debian Woody and if I continue to be impressed, the same thing will happen to my work machines sooner or later. (perhaps more on this in another posting if I have time)

hi there,

i think this is what tends to happen. slackware has impressed me with its stability/speed - but if you've got more than a couple of machines then debian means they are just as fast but also a lot easier to maintain.

also - on a workstation it is VERY easy to install/remove applications and the new debian 3.0 installer has installed easily on a laptop and another PC.

even installed ok on an adaptec SCSI/RAID based P4 machine.

Curious as to the variety of distros used on this list... It seems mainly

I'll start the ball rolling, I (now) use Mac OS X, with GNU/Darwin and
XonX... might play with PPC Linux once I find a distro I like.
