I just saw something quite amazing today, at a friends place in a rural area, where power supply was dodgy. A device that handled a 2 sec power dip, without even beeping. A device which, when disconnected from power from as long as 5hrs could stay fully operational !!! That device was a notebook/laptop. Much lighter than a UPS too. Heh. :) -Kai p.s. http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/u/hendry/content/debian/tips.shtml updated! -- http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/u/hendry
Well thanks for that. I was the one who started the thread about using a UPS in Devon. I can see that your solution above will work but ther is one problem as far as I am concerned.... I HATE notebook/laptop computers!! Neil -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
