And sendmail. still. hmmm.
Over lunch with senior director of engineering at RH a wee bit back, we were talking about redhat (or more precisly, why i didn't like it ;p), i told him sendmail and wu-ftp shipping as default for redhat (back in 6.x) has made the internet a messier place, 'cause of all those rooted redhat boxes ;), and when the hell they would change this... He replied they are planning on moving to somethign more sensible (as he also dislikes sendmail), but it's a matter of engineering the packages, compatibility, and also what people expect to find - so maybe *one* day it will appear with exim and proftpd by default ;) so maybe they are forgiven for the time being in my books - imagine all the companies who use sendmail, upgrade to a new version of redhat, and find exim. *gasp!* i would hate to imagine those poor sa's who have spent years getting their heads around sendmail.cf's (or more likely, randomly getting the right settings by luck) to be greeted by a nice simple exim config ;) ~ Theo - -- Theo Zourzouvillys http://zozo.org.uk/ My only love sprung from my only hate!
