I get the same on my ppp logs too. Well, could be a BT misconfiguration,
could be a reject on that other form of authentication that most ISPs
support such as PAP (or CHAP).

Sometimes I get a shorter list, but if the connection is going to fail, it'll 
fail at this stage, generally. Happens a lot with Tiscali. Often takes >3 
attempts to get online. Each reject has lots of these cryptic messages.
