[LUG] Home Networks

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a pretty idiot-proof guide to setting up a home network?
Nothing grand, and unless wireless lans have enough range to see me working in 
the nearest beer-garden wires are fine. At the moment I have two pcs and only 
want to run remote x-sessions but I'm sure that will change.
