showkey -m gives you the keymap-translated  characters. Using showkey -k gives
you the actual key codes:

Up = 103
Down = 108
Left = 105
Right = 106

I got those numbers using vi. going into insert mode, enabling the insertion
of ctrl chars by doing ^V.  In that case, pressing up produces ^[OA, which I
referenced using the tables on:
http://www.december.com/html/spec/ascii.html

And used the relating octal values.  Its got to be worth trying those values
out hasn't it?

I don't think that is several different keys, but the (somewhat complicated)
control character that the arrow keys generate (^[[A etc)
