ABOUT THE DEVON AND CORNWALL GNUⁱ/LINUX USER GROUP

Formed in 1999 we aim to bring together users of GNU/Linux as well as Free and open source software.

Linux is used in a wide range of applications from embedded systems right up to super computers. It has a place in servers and on the desktop. GNU/Linux is now found at the heart of many every day devices such as routers and also used in devices such as the Raspberry Pi, Smartphones running the Android Operating system have Linux at the heart of the devce. Many people use it, without realising they are using it.

As a group we discuss lots of issues and can support the software that runs on GNU/Linux so if you need help with Apache, gaming, web design, databases, security and much more. You can ask on the mailing list and someone is generally able to offer help and support. If we can't help we can usually point you in the right direction. This is currently our main method of communication. You can also contact members via Internet Relay Chat.
