BlogsDCGLUG Site switched to Drupal![]() Submitted by Simon Waters on Mon, 02/15/2010 - 22:54
On February 15th 2010 the Devon and Cornwall GNUi/Linux user group switched their website from a combination of in-house PHP and ErfurtWiki to Drupal. It is hoped this will reduce the administration overhead on the webmaster who has moved to Cambridge, whilst producing an accessible and professional looking website. A few teething problems are expected but it was one of those things that needed doing otherwise it would never happen. The drupal6 site has a BlogAPI that drivel and other blog clients can use. This has now been configured for the "blogger" user role and admins can mark users as bloggers to give the user a blog on dcglugi which they can administer remotely. Neil W has set up Drupal 6 for the Devon and Cornwall GNUi/Linux user group website. Looks like a lot of migration work to be done. No time this evening to get started, but thought a blog post would be good. Thanks Neil. |
