Re: [LUG] Live CD's

RE: Mepis Linux
A word of warning about Mepis/Debian compatibility.
The text that follows was taken from one of the installer
dialogs.

"Debian Compatibility
MEPIS Linux is compatible with most packages made for a
recent version of the 'unstable' build of Debian.
But be warned, the MEPIS Linux kernel is different than the
Debian kernel. Debian packages that modify the Linux
kernel are almost never compatible with MEPIS. This
includes kernel packages and precompiled device drivers."

How about....

Kanotix. Debian unstable so it's bleeding edge. Plus installer.
KDE desktop. Runs OK on my machine.

Mepis. Debian-testing?. Plus installer. Not looked to closely but
runs OK on my machine. KDE desktop.
