Hi all, I'm looking into wirelessly networking my home computers and laptop, and have been looking at the various options. This would be the first network I've set up, and would appreciate any guidance or suggestions as to what a good make or model wireless broadband router would be.
the Netgear DG range are very good and reasonably priced, as well as being easy to configure, we use them alot at work. Though pretty much any broadband router will be ok, as they all, AFAIAA, use browser based configuration systems, all that really matters is that the network cards in the linux boxes are supported, and NIC support in linux is very good. You are more likely to have problems with the win 95 box, especially if it isn't running win95se and doesn't have winsock installed. - -- James jamesk[at]homeric[dot]co[dot]uk Imagine, if you will, someone typing on a keyboard whilst sipping and... clearing the sinuses. -Torak on AFP -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Processed by Mailcrypt 3.5.8 <http://mailcrypt.sourceforge.net/> iD8DBQFBYuqFqfSmHkD6LvoRAqbGAJ99PXG32NiM2WbNwtsKu75+YM+WhgCfWL0t Lc8WFTAE7+mxx+fjAziwBY4= =kGZ5 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
