What about a forum, instead of a list?

A forum could be really good. Firstly, anyone could post on anything,
and a reduction in the amount of email would be a real blessing. It'd
also be the list archive as well, because all the posts would be
archived as they were when posted.

Urk, no no no, forums are just slow nasty and irritating, and it isn't
as if this list is particularly high traffic anyway, maybe 20 mails to
it on a good day, at a rough guess.

using email is IMO, far more convenient, and doesn't leave you
waiting around for stuff to load. If the forum had an NNTP
interface that would be good, but in that case, why bother with
the forum bit as well?
