I pick as the difference that this is another of a class of aplications which 
takes an essentially peer to peer process and interposes a central server as 
a requirement.

The author of Speak-Freely announced from his Swiss mountain fastness that he 
saw the creeping ownership of such services as this as a reason to abandon 
development on his tool.
