Whilst I tend to agree with Kai - some mailing list managers do it pretty much as default, and it might be easier to switch to one that does digests if it supports other useful features as well.
I just filter the LUG mailing list into a "Linux" folder, where all my other high volume GNU/Linux and free software mailing lists go.
I still get NANOG in digest because I just want to see what those crazy guys are upto, and usually just browse the content list and bitbucket. You'd be amazed how many still post to the list using HTML (if you want to 'own' the Internet you know which NANOG posters to target first ;-).
