I assume you mean "XDMCP" which is the magic word.

On Debian if you edit /etc/kde3/kdm/kdmrc and switch XDMCP to true from
false, you get a "REMOTE LOGIN" menu choice at login, which is what I
think you want.
I was editing the above mentioned file (mdk it 
is /usr/share/config/kdm/kdmrc). but it was seemed to take no notice.I think 
i know what has happened though. The kdmrc on laptop seems incorrect for 
version of 3.2 kdm, but suspisiosly there is a kdmrc.rpmnew that looks like 
the correct format, i think the package manager strikes again!
