The webmin third-party module b9ddns (http://sf.net/projects/b9ddns) access the local DNS using the loopback interface. However, I was requested to look at the possibility of using a different system interface because some sites configure their DNS such that queries and dynamic updates are only allowed via the network interface and not the loopback. Hence I need a perl module or subroutine to find out what interfaces the local host has. The local host itself could be anything which supports perl and webmin - hence I don't want anything system specific. Also I want a 'standard' subroutine since saying that a specific module *must* be installed before you can use the webmin module is not good news.
