:DI attended the .net lecture (in Babbage). Sadly I didn't get much out of it. There didn't seem to be the usuall marketing, a C# HelloWorld was written and compiled. I handed my email address to a few of the attendees so that they could contact me regarding their interest in an Open Source meeting. Also I left a few fliers with weblinks to DotGNU, I didn't have the balls to stand at the door and hand them out. There was no Q & A session but a small number of attendees and the presenters met in the refectory. From the discussion I had with Microsoft, they are more corncerned now about the Desktop market than the server market and view Linux as a problem on the Desktop.
Just had our geohazards lecture in Scott building. The .net talk clashed so people were shoved off to Babbage building.
Unfortunately I can't advertise being behind the mess :)
Many thanks.
