taught by route ?....surely that is rote ?....a mistake like that
could cost you hours of headscatching if it had been typed into a
linux/dos/basic/"C"....command line ?

Your point about Linux mindset and building a desk is well put.

Example.......... (I'm Joe Public as I've said before).....I have BT
Broadband and one of those strange Alcatel green "skate" modems. The
way to get this configured in Linux seems to have defeated a great
many people............ no Internet no online help.......so back into
Windows look for solution.......back into Linux.....solution don't
work.......back into Windows.....new solution......Linux
crashes......time bomb icon.....a few alterations ..screen
freezes.....decide to reload Redhat......get solution off
internet....images ?.....tar ?.......rth (?).....Christ I'm only at
stage 1 what are these ?......where do they go ? etc etc etc.

Anyway what is wrong with being spoon fed ?.......We are all spoon
fed, who can build a house from scratch....grow food......rear
animals.....make textiles......smelt iron.......

Enoughs enough.....all I wanted to do was go to Exeter College and
have a knowledgeable person explain the basics to get me started...
the rocket science I can try later.
