Theo's 'talker' (where I frequent) is based on a different set of protocols than standard IRC it is essentially a MUD (multi user dungeon) without any maps... thus people can talk and thats it..

It doesn't allow for anyone to send files etc. like IRC can...

IRC Servers can have lots of different rooms you can join in on without having to read all of the other rooms talk...

I will quite happily look in to implementing a 'talker' as opposed to an IRC server if people are interested...

For those of you who are interested feel free to telnet to tr3.org port 3000

"telnet tr3.org 3000" and "say hi flash" once logged in...
