I think we want to create a market in support, so why not buy support for Debian? Much more level playing field. Heck some of SuSE is proprietary so you can't even get proper support from other vendors for those bits. If we end up with diverse distros doing lots of things in weird and unnecessariy different ways, people won't be able to leverage some of the key benefits, it'll just go the way of Unix.
