I didn't specify processor, amount of RAM, etc. - I'm prepared to sacrifice 
performance for usability.  But you're right, it points towards a fairly new 
machine so I probably would be lucky to find it for that price...

I dunno, Li-Ion battery and a reasonably power-efficient processor.  I got 
over 2 hours out of my Dell CP (before I killed it).

I used to have a Thinkpad 760XD, but I didn't really get on with the nipple 
mouse :-(

So speaks the rich man ;-)  My Dell was OK in terms of components, and the 
13.3" TFT screen was pretty decent.  Hence it rather pissed me off the way 
the case fell to peices.  Millions of transistors, hundreds of hours of 
design by some of the cleverest engineers in the world, and then they can 
manage to design a decent box to put it in!!! >:-(
