Fine, but you might want to have a little more than just the archives on a CD. The entire DCLUG site is currently 62Mb. (10% of a CD). The rest of the site is not particularly large so upto 60Mb so far as archives going back to 1999.

The current archive is about 10Mb (just counting the HTML files) so I doubt that could compress onto a floppy (!) - I could possibly use other media (like CompactFlash) but that gets too expensive to give away!!!

Anything else you'd want on a CD-R?
Any other media to consider? Does anyone have those credit-card / business-card CD-R's? How much can they hold? Are they easy to write? Price?

any thoughts on this one (IRC)
It could be useful for when arranging meetings etc.

Depends how many people actually use IRC - I've never liked IRC and don't ever use it but a list can be added if people want it.
