like good hi-fi there are a minimum of lights -

power - adsl-link - adsl-activity and 4 four for the ethernet ports.

and they flash frantically when my NT4 laptop is on! god knows what windows networking is doing all the time,

I have one of those too, on the recommendation of someone on the list
(probably Kevin)

It's great, comes in at under £100GBP
(not much more than on of those USB things)
uses ethernet, so no compatibility problems
(a plus for someone as green as me)
And best of all, it's got Linux inside!
