Bingo (at least it appears that way - I haven't tested Mozilla yet) - there 
was a dummy account in KPPP with a blank account name, plus there were a few 
extras in the UKFSN account that I'd added *as an experiment*.

It seems OK and Mozilla even works OK. Even the spellchecker works.

Maybe it wasn't Mozilla's fault, but I didn't change the KPPP settings until 
AFTER the original Mozilla spell-check fault. Ne'er mind. It seems OK now.
