Re: [LUG] Lightweight Window Managers

My machine only runs at 66 mHz, but AfterStep runs perfectly on it, while
still looking fairly snazzy if that's important. Main limitation is video
memory - on 1mB's worth I can get 800x600 display at 8bpp colour, and
640x480 at 16bpp colour. I mostly stick with the twm window manager as
it's so simple and reliable, and very well documented. Turn on "random
placement" so that windows appear straight away, play around with the
colours, use "sqeeze title" to squeeze a bit more space out of a
14" monitor and it looks pretty decent to me.

Blackbox is also very good. And wm2 if you want it REALLY simple. If you
haven't already found it, www.xwinman.org seems to be the ultimate
repository of window managers.

Does anyone have any experience or suggestions?
