Premission problem? Did you try as root?

Send a copy of your /etc/fstab and dmesg if that does not work.

Have included a copy of fstab :

/dev/hda6 / reiserfs notail 1 1
/dev/hda1 /boot ext2 defaults 1 2
none /dev/pts devpts mode=0620 0 0
none /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
/dev/hdc1 /home reiserfs notail 1 2
/mnt/cdrom /mnt/cdrom supermount
dev=/dev/hdb,fs=iso9660,ro,--,iocharset=iso8859-15 0 0
/mnt/cdrom2 /mnt/cdrom2 supermount
dev=/dev/scd0,fs=iso9660,ro,--,iocharset=iso8859-15 0 0
/mnt/floppy /mnt/floppy supermount
dev=/dev/fd0,fs=vfat,--,iocharset=iso8859-15,umask=0,sync,codepage=850 0 0
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/hda7 /usr reiserfs notail 1 2
/dev/hdc5 /var reiserfs notail 1 2
/dev/hdc6 /var/ftp ext3 defaults 1 2
/dev/hda5 swap swap defaults 0 0

If I try to access drive in /home, I get the message : error unable to enter
file:/mnt/cdrom you do not have access rights to this location.

If I try thru root I get the message : error could not enter directory
/mnt/cdrom

Have played around with permissions in both home and root to no avail?
