hi there,

personally i would stick to the tried and tested ext2 - i found 'dump' 
did not work with reiserfs - and there may be some other unwanted 
surprises.  A journaling filesystem is mainly of use on very large, 
critical servers because it keeps a record of which files were open - so 
if the server suffers a power cut the system does not check the whole 
drive when it restarts - only the files which were open.  probably not 
neccesary for home use,
