[LUG] NIC - full or half duplex?

Hello,

Quick question, does anyone know how I can tell if the network card in my PC
is running at full or half duplex? The card is an old 3c509 running at
10Mbps; the PC is running RH7.0. The newer (?) PC's around me seem to have
10/100 cards which will auto-detect a 100Mbit connection - which is what we
are aiming for. However, in my case the best I can do is to get the card to
run at full-duplex. I suspect it is at the moment running at half-duplex
because of the switch port it is connected to. An obvious test is to set the
port to 10Mbit full-duplex and see what happens, but I'd rather have
something like ifconfig tell me what the speed and duplex is.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

John.
