Myself and Jon, got Redhat 6.2 to install and run on a 486 with 8megs.  Ok a
lot of things got cut out, but it was only acting as a gateway box for the
network invloved.  Could you not install it straight from the CD?

Give Mandrake a try - very simiar to Redhat, IMHO. Not sure of the memory
requirements on 8.0

Agree, that what I find great about Linux.  It turns a low spec box, into a
high spec server, and puts a life back into old boxes, Windows - turns a
high spec box into a low spec box!
