[LUG] Newbie help

Hi all,
I'm a newbie to Linux and have just installed Suse Personal 7.2. The manuals
are fairly good but riddled with spelling mistakes and I've bought Linux
mags and read from cover to cover but the biggest problem that I have found
is the lack of info on what on earth people are talking about. It seems that
the writers seem to take it for granted everyone has a grounding in UNIX. I
find it is too confusing for the likes of me. I am not a programmer nor will
I ever be. I just want to be able do my work without blue screen crashes
everyday. I'm very keen to dump Windows at the earliest opportunity and take
up Linux, either that or move over to Apple.
Where can I get decent explanations for a newcomer?

Thanks,
Jed
