[LUG] rant about mail clients

Why is it that a nice mail client comes along, but in their infinite
wisdom the developers see fit to break something that every other mail
client does?

To whit, Evolution 1.4, while being very nice, with an easy to use gui
and lots of powerful features doesn't support the eons old standard
sigfile of .signature.

Not do you have to enter your static sig into an in client editor, or
import it to that editor or, you can use a script to get a sigmonster,
but that script has to spit its output straight into the mail, rather
than as the one I wrote does, update a static file in the home dir.

On top of that, to get a script to format corrrectly in evolution
you have to use html tags, although it strips these out before it
sends the email.

Gah, that threw me a bit, I had to rewrite the sigmonster script
especially for use in evolution, as everything else I use for email
and news will get the sig from a file.

On a side note this is also to see if I can send mail to the list using
mutt.
